So this morning i had my dreaded neuroscience final. It went horrible. I got a C-, but after the curve it was a good enough score to get an A in the class, and the is all that matters. I haven't been working much the past few weeks because i have been freakin out about finals and other personal stuff i have going on. I am actually going to Philly after all for Spring Break so I am super excited. I am also excited about going to see my family for the first time since Christmas....i know im pathetic and should go home more. I also have another grad school interview at University of Saint Francis on the 26th. I'm a little nervous but hope it goes well. I'm making dinner for a friend tonight, doing laundry for vacation, and then cramming for my Abnormal Psych final tomorrow night. Wish me luck, until next time...peace out

Snow, Snow, Snow
It's been a weird week. I hate the last week of classes, everything feels so rushed to get the last of everything in for finals. Class was cancelled Tuesday night due to the snow, so I stayed in and still didn't get all the work done that i needed to. I have been trying to make notecards to study for my finals ahead of time, but once again there just wasn't enough time in the month to get it all done. I got another call for an interview for grad school, so that is always exciting. Next quarter my classes and work schedule is crazy, so balancing all of that shall be interesting. Well sorry this one is so short, but we are expecting another blizzard, so i need to go get prepared...darn ohio weather. Until next time...peace out

My brain hurts
So much schoolwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My brain really hurts, lol. I just finished up a powerpoint on comparative neuroscience....i know your thinking, what the heck is that? haha so am I. I somewhat know what it is talking about, the basic jist is that the parts of the brain in animals can be used to understand the parts of the brain in humans that make us act a certain way. But obviously this has to be taken with a grain of salt because you cannot directly compare the way a rabbit acts to the way a human acts, but certain things can be correlated. These are the kind of topics you have to look forward to in college. Topics do get harder, but soon you will realize you have actually learned something about your major. You know way more than the average person does about your subject. You may even come to love your subject the way I have. Soon you realize that all that hard work you put in can actually help somone out. I have come a long way, and soon it will all pay off. Things like this can keep you motivated in college even when your brain feels like it can't handle much more. Everyone needs encouragement, and the potential to change someone's life is the just the right encouragement for me! So until next time...peace out

Keepin the Motivation
So two out of three of the exams for the week are down with one more to go tomorrow. I feel okay about the two that are down and really apprehensive about the one i have left. Oh well cramming tonight should help a little bit. I'll update you later on how i did on all of them. So i have been feeling the pressure of grad school decisions. I got into the school i wanted but the money issue is posing a problem. Moving to a new town always costs money, which stinks. I have spent the last few days comparing living costs which includes room and board, meal plans, and other fun activities, as well as still being able to pay my current bills. I am in good running for scholarships and my second and third choice schools, but at my number one i cant get scholarships until i am actually in good standing in my department. Decisions, decisions, decisions. They arent exactly fun. I guess it is all part of being an adult. Okay onto some more fun aspects of college life. President's day held some great shopping opportunities, since we dont get the day off school, i decided i would treat myself to some clothes. Its not like i need them, i swear i have enough clothes to clothe a third world country. Let's just say that goodwill will be liking me soon. So Kohl's had a million things on sale, so i spent too much on shoes that hurt my feet, but...beauty is pain right? Well I am going to head to work soon and call some high schoolers and tell them how great osu is...so until next time...peace out

Another week down
So this week wasn't too eventful. I have been fighting through a cold all week, no fun when you are in college and work two jobs. It has been hard to be motivated because of all the cold weather all week. Sarah, Mandi and I went to Cracker Barrel for lunch/breakfast on Tuesday which was way fun. Then we went shopping and i spent way too much money on myself. I guess i deserved it since i didnt have a boyfriend over valentines day this year. School was really hard on Monday because i was trying to catch up in my math class, never a fun time. I got really frustrated but my friend josh helped me understand and i somewhat know what i am doing. Today work called and said they didnt need me to come in which was an awesome phone call to receive, so i slept until noon. Today is valentines day, so my friend and i are going to dinner and a movie...who needs boys...not me lol. Well i am going to cut this blog short so i can get some work done. I have three exams week so be ready to hear some complaining from my end...until next time...peace out

Bad Week
Well I am sorry to say that winter got the best of me this week. I decided not to get out of bed at all on Wednesday so I missed all my classes. Bad move, I ended up missing my advanced stats class which has now put me behind and I got a bad grade on the homework. Word of advice, don't miss class, no matter how bad you do not want to go, it is better to just tough it out than to get behind. My one day of rest will end up making me work hard all week to catch up instead of working hard for one day. Oh well every action has an opposite and equal reaction, I will deal with it.
My roommates grandpa passed away this week which also led to some distraction and me trying to be a good friend. It is really hard to try to help when you dont exactly know what to say, all i know is i miss her being in my apartment with me.
This Ohio weather is killing me. My fingers are freezing to the keyboard right now. It also leads to my total lack of motivation in leaving my nice warm bed. The weekend was full of work once again, and the week ahead is full of work and homework. I plan on getting ahead because midterms are right around the corner. My best friend and I made a trip to BG for some dancing with friends. It was a great time.
On Friday, we held an open house for prospective students. I really felt like a made a difference in helping students decide their futures. I have never felt that way before at any event at the school. I guess maybe its because i shared a lot more about myself and my unique experience at OSU. If I helped one student make their college decision it would mean the world to me. I wish someone would have shared with me when i was still in high school. It feels good to do something positive for someone else.
Well I am going to jump in my nice cozy bed and get some beauty sleep for the full school day tomorrow...until next time...peace out

Big News!!
The past week has been pretty eventful in the life of Cassie. The biggest and best news I recieved this week was the determinant of my future. I got into grad school at Western Kentucky University, my top choice. It was a huge relief to know that I got in, but more stress comes from trying to figure out how I am going to pay for my continued education. I know I will figure it all out, but still makes me worry a bit.
On Friday my roommate and my best friend took a trip to Tiffin University to visit my friends from my sophomore year. We had a great time dancing and hanging out. I also finalized my spring break plans with my Tiffin friends. We are going to spend a week in Florida after finals for winter quarter! I cannot wait!
The rest of the weekend was spent working lame lame lame. But Sunday was the Super Bowl woot woot! My best friend and I had a little get together at my house. I was torn between which team i wanted to win because Plaxico Burress used to play for the Steelers, which is my number one team!!!!!! So I cheered for him most of the game, but he didnt really do much until the game winning catch thrown by Eli Manning. I was a little sad though because I love Tom Brady, always have and the Patriots are my number two team. Overall, it was an awesome game and I'm glad it kept my attention. My mom also came to hang out with us which was awesome. I love my mom to death and she lives back home so i dont get to see her much. She cleaned my house for me and cooked us all food for the game. Let's just say my friends love my mom too.
This week holds classes, work, Mardi Gras, working out, and homework. No plans for the weekend yet, but I'll keep you updated!! I am off to schedule my last quarter of classes at Ohio State...it is a great feeling but also brings apprehension and a twinge of sadness. I'll update you on those feelings later as well....until next time...peace out!

First Blog
Since this is my first blog, I figured I would talk a little more about myself than what is in the small box to your left. I am a Senior here at OSU Lima. This has been the best school I have attended in my four years since high school. When I first graduated, I attended Valley Forge Christian College near Philadelphia. I love Philadelphia with all my heart, and probably alway will. The school was just not for me, so I decided to move back home after my freshman year. I am from Mansfield, Ohio by the way not Lima. My sophomore year I attended Tiffin University. I also did a co-op program for Forensic Science with Heidelberg College. I enjoyed my studies at both colleges, but some personal decisions led me to move to Lima and transfer to OSU in the summer of 2005. As I stated earlier, this has been the best college and I have been very successful here. I am a Psychology major, and my couse load is fairly heavy this quarter. I am taking Abnormal Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Data Analysis for the Behavioral Sciences, and Volleyball. I also work in the Admissions office and I wait tables at Cracker Barrel. I live in my own apartment with my room mate Ashley. It works out fairly well because my two best friends live next door! I spend most my time working and studying, but I fit fun in there every once in awhile. Well I have to get to class so until next time...peace out!
